Luckily, the walls of the grand lady of Paris survived the recent inferno that engulfed her roof and destroyed that tall spire.
My last trip to Paris was only for a day and a half when I zoomed over from London to meet some friends. On that trip, the only glimpse I had was from the roof of the Pompidou Center when I was there with my friends for late night drinks.
I will have to be happy with the many photos I have taken from the outside. I am hopeful that the restoration will bring this landmark back to its historic beauty to be enjoyed by the world once again.

Thanks for the memories Sharon, I must admit the fire made me look through all my old photos of Paris too. So lucky there wasn't more damage ✨
I've never been there, and yet seeing the fire felt like a wound in the heart. Fortunately it wasn't worse than it was.

Such beautiful pictures Sharon. I was so used to see Notre Dame while working in Paris that I never took time to take any picture, taking it probably for granted... Can you believe it?
I visited it in 1985. I wanted to climb the steps to the top but was told it was too late in the day. But the inside, with its beautiful stained glass windows, awed me.
