The Vessel is a sculptural structure built as a visitor attraction to the Hudson Yards development in New York City. It was designed by British designer Thomas Heatherwick in the form of an elaborate honeycomb. It is 150 feet tall and consists of 154 staircases, 2,500 steps and 80 landings for visitors to climb.
Unfortunately, The Vessel has become the sight of several suicides despite measures to prevent such incidents. The stairs have been closed so now we can only see it from the outside looking up.
